Sometimes, somethings happen in our lives, in the communities we are in, in the world that makes us ask ourselves and the people around us this question, but where is God?? People talk about Him that He will always be there for us, that He will take us out of this problems, now that we are facing them, where is He?
+ God is ahead of us
If you have ever asked where God is, be encouraged to know that God is ahead of us, making a way, taking this trouble in our lives away, God is leading us through this safely. As He was the fire by night and cloud by day to the Israelites, He is still the same to us today.
Deuteronomy 31:8- “The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
It is easy and human to think that God is against us whenever we are faced with anything tough and life shuttering, but God is for us, He is fighting for us, He is on our side no matter what life throws at us.
Romans 8:31- “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
+God is with us, He is all over the place
God is omnipresent, He has never disappeared from the earth or for a minute not see what is going on in the world, He is with us always, within us, dwells in us, all over the place watching us. He is Emmanuel, God with us, now, in this place.
Proverbs 15:3- “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Watching the evil and the good”
+God is behind us
When you think that our behind are unprotected so the devil can hurt us from there, God is already there.
Psalms 139:5- “You hem me in behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me”.
When you feel like God has left you, may these verses from His word remind you that He will never, He is here. He is compassionate and cares about every detail in our lives (Hosea 11:8-“Oh, how can I give you up, Israel? How can I let you go? How can I destroy you like Admah or demolish you like Zeboiim? My heart is torn within me, and my compassion overflows). As Christine, my South Sudanese friend told me, ” the only thing that is keeping us strong is the knowledge that we have Him living inside of us, that He is our joy, the one who brings us joy and salvation in His own time, otherwise we would have lived in despair”.
Next time you find yourself asking this question, remember He is with us, ALWAYS.
